Supermodel Sues Salma Hayek’s Husband for $46,000 a Month in Child Support
Supermodel Linda Evangelista recently revealed that billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault is the father of her 4-year-old son. Pinault is currently married to actress Salma Hayek, with whom he has a 3-year-old daughter. Evangelista alleges her son was conceived in 2006 during the married couple’s brief separation.
Now, Evangelista is suing Pinault for approximately $46,000 per month in child support, according to The International Business Times. The sum is estimated to be the largest support order in the Manhattan family court’s history. Pinault is believed to be worth over $11 billion.
According to court documents, Evangelista is asking for the support because she needs assistance in paying for nannies and drivers who double as security guards. She claims she works 16-hour days and needs a nanny’s help to provide care for her son. In addition, her lawyer argues that Pinault already spends a large sum of money on his daughter with Hayek. It is believed Pinault puts away $50,000 per month into a trust for her, as well as spends money on vacations and other gifts. No support of any kind has been offered to Evangelista from Pinault. There also has not been confirmation regarding whether Pinault has taken a paternity test and whether he is the real father of Evangelista’s son.
Pennsylvania paternity cases can become very complex, and also involve sensitive issues. In some instances, genetic testing is needed for a father to fulfill his paternal rights. It may be required for paternal determination by jury to be done if the genetic test results can be disputed. However, it is necessary to determine a child’s biological father for child custody and support, visitation rights, and other issues.
