At the Law Offices of Sheryl R. Rentz, P.C., we work to protect children and help families become more secure. Sheryl wants everyone to have the opportunity to follow their dreams and pursue their goals. That’s why we’re pleased to announce the kickoff of this year’s $1500 college scholarship.

Earning a four-year college degree has never been easy, and these days, aspiring students face all sorts of challenges. But with dedication and a lot of hard work, a college degree is a worthwhile and attainable goal. College is a wonderful place to meet all kinds of people and acquire knowledge and skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life.

Our Sheryl R. Rentz 2024 Key to a Bright Future Scholarship is open to current high school and college students across the country seeking a four-year college degree. To enter, submit an original essay that answers the prompt below by June 4, 2024.

Details & Dates To Remember

Amount: $1500

Eligibility: Nationwide

Scholarship launch: March 5, 2024

Submissions close: June 4, 2024

Finalists announced: June 18, 2024

Winner announced: July 2, 2024

Short Essay: 500-1,000 Words

Essay prompt: Describe a specific person, experience, or event in your life that served as a turning point, significantly influencing your character, values, or aspirations. Explore how this person or experience has propelled you towards personal growth and academic excellence.

2024 Key to a Bright Future Scholarship Eligibility Rules

  • You must be a high school senior on track to graduate or a college student enrolled in an accredited four-year university/college, or currently enrolled in a two-year college and planning to transfer to a four-year university/college upon completion.
  • You have earned, or will earn, your high school diploma this calendar year.
  • You have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • You are a U.S. citizen or hold Permanent Residency status. DACA recipients are welcome to apply.
  • You must complete all entry fields on the application for the scholarship. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Entries that do not meet the word count requirement will not be considered.
