At the Law Offices of Sheryl R. Rentz, P.C., we feel fortunate about the success we’ve achieved, and it’s a wonderful privilege to help others reach their goals. That’s why we offer our annual $1,500 Key to a Bright Future Scholarship for high school seniors and college students who are working to improve their lives by earning a four-year college degree.

We think college is a great place to learn important skills, meet new people, and explore options for building a beautiful future, and we want to help you reach your goals!

Scholarship Details

Our 2025 Key to a Bright Future Scholarship is open to students from across the country. To enter, write a 500- to 1,000-word essay on the prompt below and submit it by May 7, 2025.

  • Eligibility: National
  • Essay length: 500 to 1,000 words
  • Scholarship amount: $1,500
  • Start date: February 6, 2025
  • Submission deadline: May 7, 2025
  • Finalists announced: May 21, 2025
  • Winner announced: June 4, 2025

Essay prompt: Talk about a passion or hobby of yours that brings you joy. Does this passion connect to your academic or career aspirations, or is it more closely tied to your personal life goals? Explain the positive impact you hope it has on you.

Applicant Requirements

  • You must be a high school senior on track to graduate, a college student enrolled in an accredited four-year university or college, or currently enrolled in a two-year college and planning to transfer to a four-year university or college upon completion.
  • You must have earned, or will earn, your high school diploma this calendar year.
  • You must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or hold permanent residency status. DACA recipients are welcome to apply.
  • You must complete all entry fields on the application for the scholarship. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Entries that do not meet the word count requirement will not be considered.
