Philadelphia County

Philadelphia County was first organized in 1682, and later in 1854 was consolidated with the City of Philadelphia. In 2006, it was estimated that the population of the County was 1,448,394. With the County's long history, there are many important historical places to visit, such as Christ Church Burial Ground where the grave of Benjamin Franklin is located, the Arch Street Friends Meeting House in which Quaker meetings were held starting in the early 1800's, and the Pre-Revolutionary War homes that are the Historic Houses of Chadds Ford.
